Happy Independence Day. I hope you’re enjoying some excessive Americana this week and what’s more American than obsessing over college football deep into the offseason? If you’re in my camp and looking for any football nugget you can get, you have some coming your way this week.
Clemson has an excellent 2024 recruiting class so far, but it’s missing one big thing, an offensive lineman. The Tigers likely need three offensive linemen in this class and as of July 3rd they have none. This week, three of their prime targets are making verbal commitments.
First up is Ronan O’Connell:

He is a 3-star from suburban Nashville who is deciding between his hometown Vols and the Tigers. Wisconsin is also in the mix.
Next will be William Satterwhite on July 7th.

He’s a 4-star prospect out of Ohio who is between just Clemson and Tennessee. Clemson is getting all too familiar with the Vols after they ended Clemson’s football and baseball seasons and are also going up against them for WR/ATH Mike Matthews.
Finally, the one who actually set his date first is Fletcher Westphal. He is the one Clemson fans have heard the most about:

He is a 4-star like Satterwhite and hails from Virginia. It sounds like a Clemson vs. Florida battle, but Georgia should never be ruled out and Arkansas has Sam Pittman — a former O-line coach — leading the program.
Clemson really needs to land at least one if not two of these three targets and we’ll find out about all of them this week. For more on them, check out the video at the top of this article.
