Clemson Basketball: Pitt Game Postponed

Welp....

The Clemson men’s basketball program announced today that their game against Pittsburgh originally slated for Sunday had been postponed.

I’m trying to see the light at the end of this pitch black tunnel...so...at least neither game this week had major NCAA tournament implications? It will be interesting to see how the Tigers squeeze another 2 games and the ACC tournament into an already crowded slate of games, but both Notre Dame and Pitt were “more potential for harm than good” games anyway.

Beating a 9-10 Notre Dame team or a 9-7 Pitt team doesn’t help our resume, but losing to either team would hurt. If we don’t make up 1 or both games, it’ won’t be the end of the world. In fact, at this point, we should probably let these games slide. On another positive note, if you’ve got to squeeze an extra game in, at least it won’t be against a conference power. Clemson likes to use their depth, and Notre Dame and Pitt would give them the opportunity (in theory) to go a little deeper into their bench.

Granted, knocking off Notre Dame and Pitt this week, building momentum, and extending our win streak would have been fun, but such is life during the Covid-19 era. I’m just happy we’re playing games at this point.

Hopefully everyone rests up, or practices up, or whatever it is we need to do to be ready to come out firing on all (or at least most) cylinders when this hopefully brief respite concludes.
