Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Grayson High School running back Phil Mafah has signed his letter of intent to play at Clemson University. Mafah, a 4 star prospect out of Georgia, arrives at Clemson with a .8974 rating after an excellent high school career. Mafah will leave high school measuring 6’1” and weighing 215 lbs.
He is the 14th ranked running back in the class of 2021 and was primarily recruited by Tony Elliott and Mickey Conn. The Tigers beat out teams like Auburn and Alabama for his signature. With Travis Etienne and Darien Rencher ending their Clemson career this year, as well as Demarkcus Bowman’s decision to transfer, Mafah will help fill a depth problem and he will have an opportunity to contribute immediately.
QT’s take from his commitment:
We said the 2021 class was about to kickoff into high gear and it just did. This is even faster than I thought (I thought I had until tonight to finish writing this...).
I’ll write more here in a bit, but I am happy to see Clemson evaluate a running back and move early. Mafah isn’t a 5* talent, but he is a solid player in your backyard that helps continue to recruit in Georgia and Grayson HS. Mafah has the potential to be a bigger back, an all-purpose runner who falls forward and gives you a nice blend of power and speed.
