After taking some time to get going last week, Clemson takes on Boston College in a tune up for the big trip to Notre Dame. The Tigers get a noon kickoff on ABC for this one in Death Valley.
The big news this week is the injuries on defense. The Tigers could be missing 3-4 key players due to injury. We know Skalski isn’t going to be playing today, but it is also possible Tyler Davis, Derion Kendrick, and Mike Jones Jr. will all miss. All three are carrying nagging injuries and have been listed as day to day or worse by the coaches.
Without any of these guys the defense takes a hit. In particular, the loss of Skalski will hurt the defense because of his role as the “QB” of the defense. The good thing is that this will provide an opportunity for everyone to see the depth of the defense.
On offense I think the two big things to look at are Clemson’s running game in the ‘A’ gap, particularly the OL blocking, and how Trevor Lawrence bounces back from an off game. He missed a lot of throws he normally hits against Syracuse so we should see him bounce back.
With Lawrence out, I’m really just curious to see what the offense does in general. Especially in the passing game.
As always, join us in the comments to discuss the game.
