Clemson gained a verbal commitment from 4-star wide receiver Beaux Collins today. Collins is from Bellflower, California (St. John Bosco) and is listed at 6’3” 190lbs. He is the #3 ranked wide receiver in the 2021 class per the 247Sports Composite and the #34 player overall. Collins has been working between a perceived top two of Clemson and Ohio State. The Clemson family and connection to future QB1 DJ Uiagalelei brought Collins home to Clemson for good.

Collins fits the mold of recent Clemson wide receivers. He is long, lean, and smooth. That athleticism translated during a 2019 Opening Regional event. Collins posted verified testing numbers of: a 4.72 second 40 yard dash, a 4.30 shuttle, and a 35 inch vertical leap. Those numbers were recorded while Collins was still a sophomore in high school.

Collins could continue to develop and make an early contribution like previous receivers Tee Higgins, Deon Cain, and Mike Williams. However, given depth at the position, it appears he will be given time to perfect his body and be better prepared to contribute once he reaches his sophomore or junior year.

Collins is the sixth member of Clemson’s 2021 class and is Clemson’s second commitment at wide receiver, joining Dacari Collins. Clemson will likely add one or two more wide receivers this cycle. Prepare for them to go big game hunting: Emeka Egbuka. The best is yet to come, friends.
