The Tigers return to the diamond to host the VMI Keydets. If you don’t know much about Virginia Military Institute, they’re essentially Virginia’s version of the Citadel. Clemson to the opening weekend series against South Alabama 2-1 and picked up a Monday 7-6 win over Charlotte. Clemson’s scheduled midweek game against Tennessee Tech was postponed until April 24th due to weather.

The Keydets will be looking to pick up a win over an ACC foe after they were blanked by Virginia 9-0 on Tuesday. Prior to that, VMI opened the series with 4 games in Willimington, NC, where they picked up 2 wins over St Joseph’s while dropping two against UNC Willimington. Senior first baseman Jake Huggins leads VMI offensively. After 5 games, the Richmond, VA native is hitting .391 with 9 hits and 2 homers.

The Tigers will be looking for another big weekend from Davis Sharpe. Sharpe started game 2 for the Tigers, going 5 innings and surrending only 2 hits to South Alabama en route to his first career win as a Tiger. Davis turned around for the second part of the double header to DH for Clemson, going 2-4 with 3 RBI’s in Clemson’s 4-3 loss to the Jaguars.
