Class of 2020 DT Bryan Bresee Signs Letter of Intent with Clemson

NCAA Football: ACC Championship-Virginia vs Clemson Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

Clemson commit and #1 DT in the nation Bryan Bresee signed his Letter of Intent with Clemson today. The Damascus, MD, product has been committed to the Tigers for nearly 7 months. Bresee is a 5-star player with a .9997 rating according to 247. He is 6’5” and weighs in at 290 lbs.

Breese is another example of Todd Bates continuing to show his recruiting ability with Brent Venables throwing in the assist as the secondary recruiter. The Tigers beat out a variety of blue bloods for Bresee including Georgia, Alabama, and Penn State.

Bresee is one of the best players in the nation and should be a dominant force on the DL for 3-4 years. His size and weight mean he should challenge for the two-deep as soon as he steps on campus and he should fill a need to build up our depth at DT for 2020. His biggest challenge will be adjusting to the college competition from Maryland HS competition.

QT’s Take:

This is crazy you all.

What a time to be a Clemson fan. Clemson moves into Damascus, Maryland and pulls the composite number one player in the country with zero drama or worries? Clemson beat UGA, Bama, and the entire country for Bryan.

I’ve written a bunch about Bresee. He can play inside or outside—immediately. He is ridiculously fast off the ball and pulverizes the Maryland competition. Big body and frame. Mean streak. Scheme versatility. Country strong and still some raw talent that can be pushed even further.

Bresee will continue to refine his pass rush technique depending on where he plays on the line, but he will be a matchup nightmare wherever he lines up. It is going to be fun to watch for three years.
