The Tigers welcomed FCS foe Wofford to town this weekend for the school’s annual Military Appreciation Day. When it comes to honoring our military, you’d be hard pressed to find a school that does it better than Clemson, and this year was no exception.
As for the game itself, it was over almost as quickly as it began. Let’s be honest, this was basically a glorified exhibition. The Tigers jumped out to a 42-0 halftime lead, and cruised to a 59-14 win over the Terriers.
Trevor Lawrence
Lawrence is getting dialed in as we head down the stretch, and that is bad news for future opponents. For the fourth consecutive game he had 3 TD passes. He ran for another TD. He hasn’t thrown a pick since early in the Louisville game. Of course, listening to the national media that is something you would never know. He hit on 75% of his attempts, most with pinpoint accuracy..... Paws Up
Travis Etienne
Etienne had 200 yards before halftime, becoming the first ACC back to do so in 15 years. His 212 rushing yards now gives him three 200-yard games in his career, and he is the first Tiger RB to accomplish that feat. He has now gone over the 100 yard mark in 4 consecutive games and his 2 rushing touchdowns gives him 48 for his career, setting a new school record. As we head down the stretch, ETN seems to be hitting his stride..... Paws Up
Tee Higgins
Tee looks to be fully recovered from a hamstring injury that had been nagging him. He had 5 catches for 74, including a 25-yard TD grab. If this team is going to make another run at a title, it needs Higgins at full strength..... Paws Up
Amari Rodgers
Speaking of someone hitting their stride, that is exactly what Amari seems to be doing. After tearing his ACL in the spring, Rodgers looks better than ever. He is making his presence felt on the offensive side of the ball and has had an impact on the intermediate passing game that seemed to be missing a few weeks back..... Paws Up
B.T. Potter
Potter missed another FG attempt yesterday. making him just 8-14 on the season. he is just 2-4 on the season from 30-39 and just 1-4 from 40-49. That isn’t going to get it done. If this team were to ever find itself in a situation where the game was on the line and needed a FG to win it..... Paws Down
Will Spiers
Two punts. each for just 35 yards..... Paws Down
And in other games from across the nation.....
App State
The Mountaineers had their 13-game winning streak snapped on Thursday night as they gave up 335 rushing yards to Georgia Southern, and struggled against their triple-option offense for the second straight season. On a cold, rainy, Halloween night, App State’s chances at one of those NY6 bowl games took a big hit..... Paws Down
NC State
The slide continues for the Wolfpack. In an attempt to find any semblance of an offense, Dave Doeren turned to former 3rd string QB Devin Leary. In his first career start, Leary showed why in fact he was third on the depth chart to start the season, going just 17-45 for 149 yards and 2 INTs. The bad news is it is about to get worse with the defending champion Clemson Tigers set to visit Carter Finley next Saturday night..... Paws Down
