After an ugly and embarassing loss up at Syracuse last year Clemson gets an opportunity to return the favor this afternoon. Syracuse is in town for what may be Clemson’s toughest game the rest of the season.
Of course the big news is the naming of Trevor Lawrence as QB1. We’ve been watching the battle for awhile now and this is not unexpected. Just a little fun for you. In 2014 Deshaun Watson was named the starter for his 4th game against UNC at home. We saw how that worked out so no pressure for Trevor in this one in front of the home crowd.
The one thing we’ll be looking at is how Clemson’s defense handles this Syracuse offense. While the production was ok last year, the defense looked unsettled, confused, and tired. All things we aren’t used to seeing out of this defense. This may end up being a decent test of our pass defense as well.
This one kicks off at noon on ABC with a decent announcing team for once. Hopefully these guys will understand how players were named by their families, among other things.
