The Clemson Tigers will head into the season ranked No. 2 in the nation (behind the dang Tide, of course), so we’ll have a lot to talk about here at Shakin’ the Southland over the next few months. That makes this the perfect time for you to join our team and cover the Tigers with us.
We’ve got two openings on our staff. Keep reading to find out if one of these is the right opportunity for you.
What are we looking for?
We’re hiring a staff writer and a social media contributor.
For the staff writer role: We’re looking for someone who really gets the Xs and Os of the game and can communicate them to readers.
For the social media contributor role: We’re looking for someone who will be comfortable running social for the site, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. We’d also like someone who is open to working on other special projects for Shakin’ the Southland.
What skills and qualifications should you have?
Ideal candidates will:
- Have a passion for the Clemson Tigers.
- Ideally already enjoy reading, commenting, and participating in the Shakin’ the Southland community.
- Are able to produce and edit clean copy.
- Are self-starters and comfortable meeting deadlines.
- Are willing and able to help with Tigers coverage on game days during the season.
- Previous writing experience is preferred, but not required.
How do you apply?
Please send a cover letter, resume, and a writing sample to SB Nation’s talent manager for team brands, Jeanna Thomas, at jeanna.thomas@sbnation.com. You must submit these three items to be considered for this role.
