This is going to be short and sweet. After watching another lifeless performance at the plate, I just do not have much to say. Like everyones mother has at some point, mine also told me if I did not have anything nice to say, just keep my mouth shut....
The Tigers paid a visit to Athens tonight to finish up a two game season series with the Dawgs. Georgia took the first game in Augusta a week ago, and they completed the sweep of the Tigers tonight, beating Clemson 6-1.
Logan Davidson gave the Tigers an early 1-0 lead with a leadoff solo HR to start the game, but it was short lived. Georgia would get to Tiger starter Travis Marr early and often, touching him up for 4 runs in the 1st inning, and another in the 2nd. Marr would not even get out of the 2nd inning, giving up 5 ER on 5H in 1.2 IP.
That was all Georgia would need. After loading the bases with 2 outs in the 2nd and getting nothing to show for it, the Tigers would never mount another threat. They mustered only 4 hits all night, in what is becoming a familiar trend with this team.
Clemson travels to Winston-Salem this weekend to take on a good Wake Forest team. It very well could be a make or break series for the Tigers.
