When: Weds 7pm
Where: Fluor Field, Greenville SC
Video: None
Audio: Clemson Tigers Radio Network, Tigercast
Michigan St and Clemson will once again meet on the diamond at Fluor Field Weds night. It will be the sixth time the teams have met on a neutral field since 2009, with the Tigers holding a 4-1 edge over Sparty in those games. Clemson beat the Spartans 9-2 last season, a game that was also played at Fluor Field.
Looks like Michigan St will start LHP MItchell Tyranski. The sophmore is 1-0 with an ERA of 1.00. As of this writing Monte Lee had yet to officially announce who will start for the Tigers. Freshman Sam Weatherly(0-0 6.75 ERA) has made the previous two midweek starts and I assumed he would likely start this one as well, but there is talk that freshman Spencer Strider may get the nod. It would be his first career start. He is 1-0, with an ERA of 6.75 in 3 appearances.
Clemson will come in fresh off of a 6-3 win over Wofford on Tuesday night, and winners of 3 straight. They will be looking to get the bats back on track, after having mustered only 6 hits vs the Terriers. The Spartans come in, having just finished playing in the DQ Baseball Classic B1G/Pac 12 Challenge, in Minneapolis. They have lost 2 of their last 3, and have yet to play a game at home this season.
It will be interesting to see what Monte does pitching wise, this being the second of two consecutive midweek games this week, and knowing Ga Tech comes to town this weekend to open ACC play.
Check back with STS following the game for the recap
