Series History: Clemson leads 80-24-1

The Wofford Terriers roll into Doug Kingsmore Tuesday evening, winners of 3 straight. They are coming off of a weekend series sweep of Penn, having won 2 of the 3 by one run, and the other by two runs. The Tigers are, of course, coming off of their fourth straight series win over the rival Gamecocks. 6 of the Tigers first 11 games have been one run affairs, and they have managed to go 5-1 in those games. Both teams come in having been battle tested.

RHP Travis Marr(0-0 8.10 ERA) will get his first career start for Clemson. He will be looking to rebound from his last outing. Coming on in relief of Sam Weatherly last week vs Winthrop, the redshirt freshman was not very sharp. He didn’t even manage to get through a full inning, finishing with a line of .2IP 6H 3ER 0BB 1K. Not hard to see he was a little roughed up. The Tigers come in with a team ERA of 2.77. The Terriers will counter with LHP Jake Zoller(0-0 3.00 ERA). They come in with a team ERA of 4.78.

The Clemson offense comes in scoring 6.7 runs per game. They are hitting .267 as a team, with an OBP of .400. Leading the way so far is 1B Chris Williams. He’s hitting .357, with 3HR, 4 2B, 16 RBI, and sports a .667 SLG. He has also has scored 13 runs. He is the team leader in RBI, 2B, and runs scored. Add to that .429 with RISP, and you get one hot start to the season. The Terriers come in hitting .251 as a team and are led by Mack Nathanson. He’s hitting .389, with 3 HR 11 RBI, and has 6 SB to go along with that. Another Terrier to keep an eye on is McClain Bradley. He is hitting .349 with 3HR and 11RBI.

Clemson has never lost to Wofford at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The Tigers are 13-0 there vs the Terriers, dating back to 1999. The last time Wofford won at Clemson? 1949.
