The 6-11 Buccaneers come to town looking to snap a 4 game losing streak against the 15-1 Tigers. Head Coach Adam Ward, in his second season, is no stranger to Doug Kingsmore, as he is a former Clemson catcher(2007-09). LHP Jaret Bennett will get the nod, making his first start of the season. He has only appreared in one game so far, pitching only .1 of an inning. The Bucs have a team ERA of 5.12, and as a team are hitting just .231. They are led at the plate by Christian Maggio, who is batting .368.

Clemson is ranked #2 in the Collegiate Baseball poll, and are currently #1 in RPI. They are off to their best start since 2002, when they started 26-1, and coming off a 3 game sweep of Ga Tech. The Tigers look to continue its dominance over the Lowcountry school. They are 19-1 all time vs the Bucs, and 16-1 at home. RHP Holt Jones will be making his first career start, as Monte Lee continues his search for a midweek starter. The 6’ 7” freshman will be the 4th pitcher to start a midweek game this season. The staff, as a whole, has an ERA of 2.84 and a strikeout to walk ratio of 2.80. Offensively, the Tigers are hitting .268 as a team, with a .395 OBP. They are averaging a robust 7.0 runs per game.
