2019 Clemson Football Recruiting: Early Signing Period Open Thread

College Football Christmas is here! As we wait for game week, and Christmas, and all that family time, we get a chance to unwrap a few Christmas presents for Clemson today. The early signing period for the class of 2019 opens today and runs for 3 days.

For the uninitiated, this period functions as the new National Signing Day. Players don’t have to sign a letter of intent to bind them to a school this week, but by delaying they run the risk of their favorite schools running out of room for them.

Like last year there shouldn’t be many surprises for Clemson, good or bad. All of Clemson’s commits are expected to sign today and that leaves only a few outstanding offers. And of course the big names Clemson is still in the mix for have begun to trend away from the Tigers. DL/LB Quavaris Crouch seems to be headed to Tennessee and Will Putnam is still in the conversation, but Clemson can’t depend on him.

Anna Hickey over at 247 has mentioned a surprise signing for today, and we’ll have to wait and see who that might be. But if it isn’t an OL, and a decent one at that it is going to be very hard for this class to be thought of as complete.
