This past weekend, D.J Uiagalelei got to experience the Palmetto Bowl first hand. The five-star quarterback witnessed Clemson’s offense dismantle the South Carolina defense. The Tiger offense, led by Trevor Lawrence, put up 56 points and 744 total yards. This offensive clinic put on by the Tigers will go a long way in impressing D.J Uiagalelei.
Uiagalelei has star written all over him. The 6’4” quarterback possess arm strength that allows him to make every throw necessary. Uiagalelei is no doubt the best pocket passer in the 2020 class. In 2017, Uiagalelei passed for 2,733 yards and 29 touchdowns. With his pinpoint accuracy, Uiagalelei has drawn comparisons to USC’s J.T Daniels.
As of now, Uiagalelei’s top schools are Clemson, Alabama, USC, and Oregon. 247’s Crystal Ball gives USC the slight edge. According to 247, Uiagalelei has a 53 percent chance to commit to USC and a 41 percent chance to commit to Dabo and the Tigers.
Currently, Uiagalelei is ranked as the number five player nationally and the number one overall quarterback in his class. If Uiagalelei were to commit, it would give a huge boost to the 2020 Clemson recruiting class.
