Tigers Basketball Ranked 22nd In Preseason AP Poll

You felt the same chill in the air I did, basketball season is around the corner

Fresh off an exciting and surprising March Madness run the Tigers basketball team will start things off ranked 22nd in the preseason AP poll. Clemson returns senior guards Shelton Mitchell and Marquise Reed as well as forwards Elijah Thomas and David Skara. The frontcourt of Aamir Simms and Elijah Thomas showed serious potential last year, and sophomore reserves such as combo guard Clyde Trapp and wing Anthony Oliver should grow in roles off the bench. This experienced core and a handful of recruits should, hopefully, be able to weather the loss of Gabe DeVoe (playing in Poland) and Donte Grantham (signed then cut by the Thunder).

The competition will be murderous and hitting .500 in conference should be enough for Clemson to get a tournament berth. The Tigers join ACC programs Duke (4), Virginia (5), North Carolina (8), Virginia Tech (15), Syracuse (16) and noted basketball school Florida State University (17) in the top 25, giving the ACC the most ranked teams of any conference.
