Tonight marks the third time in as many years that the Clemson Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide have met in the College Football Playoffs. The first matchup went to the Tide. The second, as you are sure never to forget, went to Deshaun Watson, Hunter Renfrow, and the Tigers as Clemson won their second national championship.
Let’s revisit:
Now, thanks to the CFP selection committee, Dabo Swinney and Nick Saban will face off once again, this time in the semifinal.
Clemson enters today’s game with a 12-1 record, their lone blemish coming in the Carrier Dome to Syracuse. The Tigers dismantled Miami 38-3 in the ACC Championship game to win their third straight ACC title and fourth in seven years. Alabama (11-1) hasn’t played since their 26-14 loss to Auburn to end the regular season on November 25.
Join us in the comments below as we cheer for a spot in the national championship against either Georgia or Oklahoma.
