Q&A Preview with BC Interruption

Redshirt Freshman Anthony Brown is only the 2nd freshman quarterback in Boston College history to start the season under center for the Eagles. How has he progressed so far and what have you seen that impresses you in the first 3 weeks?

Anthony Brown certainly has looked promising over the first three weeks. As a red shirt freshman he has made a few mistakes, and has a tendency to miss targets here and there, but over all I have to say he has been a surprise. He has a decent arm, one that I wish Steve Addazio would utilize more, and can move the ball with his legs if he needs to.

Starting linebacker and leading tackler Conner Strachan is out indefinitely with a knee injury. How will his loss impact the Boston College defense?

The defense is a mess right now, and losing Strachan is only the icing on the cake. Pre-season All American Harold Landry has been completely invisible for the first three games, and has been on the bench for periods of time for reasons no one knows. Couple that with a razor thin depth chart at linebacker (BC lost two other potential starters before the season even started) and that makes a bigger mess. Finally, they have been playing sloppy undisciplined football the past two games, something that can't happen against Clemson.

Boston College is currently averaging 17.7 points per game but has some young weapons that can cause problems. Who would you consider to be the biggest threat to the Clemson defense?

We don't have weapons right now. There is really no one on this offense you would say "Man, Dabo has to get this defense ready for this guy.” Right now there are certainly a number of players who have made some nice plays including freshman wide out Kobay White, and senior wide out Charlie Callinan, but no one is a matchup nightmare..

Finally, what is your prediction for Saturday's matchup?

Pain, lots and lots of pain. I have BC losing 55-10 in this one. This season can't end soon enough.
