What’s up everyone. I know everyone is starting to get that football itch, but it’s still going to be a while before we get a proper scratch. While we wile away the summer hours with one eye on the clock and the other on the calendar, at least there is recruiting to occupy our football feverish minds. I’ll try and get one of these out every week (when there is actual news) to help.
First....the bad news:
Teradja Mitchell:
Mitchell has cut down his list to F.S.U. and O.S.U. and will announce his decision today (June 2). Clemson was in this early, but did’t quite have the staying power. We’ll probably be seeing Mitchell again, hopefully in another playoff game with O.S.U., but the buzz is that he’s heading to F.S.U.

I'll be announcing which college I will be attending Friday, June 2nd. 7 PM @ Bishop Sullivan CHS #StayTuned pic.twitter.com/wPUDogqxez
Stephon Wynn:
It certainly sounds like the Clemson legacy from Anderson (currently IMG) is trending away from Clemson and towards...Alabama or Georgia. Wynn and Marion Hobby had a solid relationship, and per Wynn, he and coach Bates haven’t really hit it off. Wynn was a guy Clemson was probably going to spin down to tackle, ala Albert Huggins, and it’s possible that being a big DE in either Bama or UGA’s system is just a better fit for Wynn.
DeMarvion Overshown:
Clemson was always a long shot to pull Overshown out of Texas, but he seemed to have at least passing interest in Clemson. Overshown committed to Texas earlier in the week.
First I want to thank god and my family for helping me make this decision.....I have officially committed to UT #revolution18 pic.twitter.com/bihLfhrQFj

The Good News:
Owen Pappoe:
Clemson just caught my attention...BIG TIME
— Owen Pappoe (@opfreak15) June 1, 2017
Pappoe is a 2019 LB/ freak of nature from Grayson. He will most likely be the top OLB in the 2019 class. He has offers from all of the usual suspects (Bama, F.S.U., O.S.U. U.G.A. etc....), but you’ve got to think Clemson has a punchers chance with Mickey Conn on staff and a solid collection of Grayson talent recently/currently on the roster. It will be a slugfest between blue bloods for Pappoe’s commitment, but it’s a year away, and Clemson appears to be positioning its self well.
Leon O’Neil:
O’Neil is a 4* safety from The Lonestar State Clemson has devoted some time and resources recruiting. He’s another guy that’s going to be hard to pull out of Texas (Texas A&M is considered his leader), but as of now, Clemson’s still in it, making O’Neil’s top 7.

Darnell Jeffries:
Jeffries, the 3* DT from Covington Georgia, plans on making a June decision, and it looks like Clemson is going to get a June visit. He is probably the #1 remaining defensive tackle on Clemson’s board and Dabo and company continue to show him the love. LSU is making a push, but I like Clemson’s chances.
Thanks Coach Swinney for the LOVE!
