Despite a late season collapse, Clemson has been selected as one of the 16 Regional host sites for the 2017 NCAA Tournament. The Tigers will host a Regional for the 15th time since the NCAA moved to this format.
There was some concern that Clemson had played themselves out of a regional berth after losing several series in a row and getting swept in the ACC Tournament. Thankfully the NCAA Committee looked at the entire season and decided to reward Clemson.
It is also possible, though extremely unlikely, that Clemson will be awarded a national side. It might be the shock of the season, but strangers things have happened with selection committees.
On Monday at 12:00pm EST the entire tournament field will be announced. The 8 national seeds will also be announced at that time. The selection show can be found on ESPN2. Along with the entire field the Super Regional pairings and the first round of the College World Series will be announced during the show. No reseedings will occur once the field is announced.
