The #3 Clemson Tigers got back on the winning track Tuesday night by knocking off the College of Charleston Cougars. Reed Rohlman got things going early in the first when he hit a long double that just barely stayed in the park to score Chase Pinder and extend his hitting streak to 19 games. Seth Beer followed that up with a RBI single to score Rohlman and give the Tigers the 2-0 lead. Charleston was able to tie it up in the second, but the the bats of Grayson Byrd and Rohlman got the Tigers a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning to put them up 4-2. Clemson scored three more runs in the 7-2 victory, capped off by Reed Rohlman’s seventh inning homer into the Cajun Cafe. Rohlman finished three for three with two doubles and that home run. Clemson pitcher Tyler Jackson earned his seventh win of the season by going seven innings. He struck out four Cougars while giving up eight hits, but only two runs.

Clemson heads to Chapel Hill this weekend for a three game tilt with #4 North Carolina. The Tar Heels are 32-9 (16-5 ACC) on the season and lead the Coastal Division by four games. Friday’s first pitch is set for 6:30 PM and can be seen on ACC Network Extra. College of Charleston falls to 20-21 overall. The Cougars will host CAA foe Elon this weekend in a three game series at Patriots Point.
