After dropping the series to Florida State on Monday, Clemson got a needed win over the Georgia Bulldogs to give Clemson the season sweep over UGA for the second straight year. Clemson jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the fourth with a six run inning that got started by Chris Williams ripping a two run double that scored Seth Beer and Reed Rohlman. Williams also homered in the fifth and scored in the eighth from third off of a Robert Jolly single to left field. Jolly later scored off a sacrifice fly from Weston Jackson. Trailing 9-4, UGA was able to get back three runs in the top of the ninth with a three run homer from shortstop Cam Shepard. Alex Hennessy came in to finish the inning out and get his third save of the year.
Clemson goes to 31-7 on the year and will host Wake Forest this weekend The Demon Deacons come in at 28-11 (12-6 ACC) and are ranked number seventeen in the nation. First pitch for Friday is set for 6:30 PM and will be available on ACC Network Extra. Georgia moves to 15-23 and host Vanderbilt. The ‘Dores are 23-15 (7-8 SEC).
