Clemson got the defensive stop it needed, and Marcquise Reed hit Elijah Thomas with a pass fit for the football field that led to the game-clinching dunk.
It was just one of many plays made by Reed, who led Clemson with 22 points in an upset win over No. 22 Florida.
Gabe DeVoe added 19 points and consistently hit shots to keep Clemson in the game when the Gators tried to extend leads.
The Tigers trailed by as many as 12 early in the second half but slowly worked their way back to within striking distance. Thomas’ dunk gave them a lead they would not relinquish with 37 seconds remaining.
Donte Grantham and Shelton Mitchell chipped in 11 and 10, respectively, and while Thomas spent a large portion of the game on the bench in foul trouble, his second basket of the game was the decisive one.
Clemson moved to 9-1 on the season and will take on South Carolina at Littlejohn on Tuesday.
