STS Prediction Contest - Championship Week

It’s the last week of the contest! The bowl games will be a separate thing that Ryan will probably handle.

Thanks to the Pac-12 being the Pac-12 and putting their game on a Friday, they won’t be in the picks this week so you have more time to fill this form out. It’s fine, they aren’t contenders for the natty this year anyways. Instead, you’ll get to choose from a not-so-bad Memphis - UCF matchup.

Week 12 and 13 top scorers, and overall standings:

As always, here are the detailed results. Let me know if anything is amiss with the scoring.

Week 12

#7 Miami (10-1) versus #1 Clemson (11-1)

Vegas says: -9.5 Clemson

Revan says: 31-21 Clemson

I wouldn’t be shocked if Clemson lost this, but I would be surprised and disappointed. This is a very winnable game, especially with Miami’s top two receiving threats unfortunately lost for the year to injury. As long as the offense is able to sustain some drives so the defense doesn’t get gassed, we should win this.

#20 Memphis (10-1) vs #14 UCF (11-0)

Vegas says: -7 UCF

Revan says: 34-31 Memphis

Memphis for the upset so UCF will stop complaining about not making it to the playoffs.

#11 TCU (10-2) vs #3 Oklahoma (11-1)

Vegas says: -7 Oklahoma

Revan says: 35-31 TCU

Didn’t we already do this? What if I still pick the team that lost, does that mean I believe in the revenge story line or that I’m just stupidly stubborn?

#6 Georgia (11-1) vs #2 Auburn (10-2)

Vegas says: -2.5 Auburn

Revan says: 28-24 Auburn

Who would you rather face in the playoffs? Auburn or Georgia? I think the answer is Georgia. So, you root for... Georgia? On the other hand, if Georgia wins, there’s a chance Alabama sneaks in right? It would take TCU and/or Ohio State winning too, though, and maybe Miami too so perhaps it’s a moot point.

#8 Ohio State (10-2) vs #4 Wisconsin (12-0)

Vegas says: -6.5 OSU

Revan says: 28-20 Wisconsin

If the top 4 outside of Wisconsin win their conference, does the committee put Ohio State in as a 2-loss conference champion over Bama? I doubt it. Bama has weaknesses, sure, but would you rather face Wisconsin or Bama in round 1? I think Wisconsin, though both teams are somewhat one dimensional, Bama still has more depth and more weapons.

Make your picks here! Deadline is 12pm* on Saturday.

*or whenever I remember to shut off responses. As always, if you enter picks after a game has started, the pick for that game will not count.
