We resume at the start of the 2nd, where the last of the game’s few hiccups (until garbage time) occurred and Clemson’s dominance started to show.

SC ball, 15:00, SC 11, 7-0 Clemson lead

2nd & 5 12 shotgun vs 4-3 IZ to Williams gains 4. Ferrell had immediate penetration off the edge and redirected the run but Williams still found yardage.
3rd & 1 12 shotgun vs 4-3 Quick swing to Williams gains 13 against man cover 1 double LB bullets, nobody picked up the back. Perfect call to the vacant flat against a blitz.
1st & 10 11 shotgun vs 4-3 Deep fade vs man cover 1 Sam fire, horribly overthrown, incomplete. Remember each of the last two summers when we heard about Bentley's 1st round potential? Woof.
2nd & 10 11 shotgun vs 4-3 IZ to Williams gains 2. Bryant overpowered Hurst in the backfield and made the tackle from the backside.
3rd & 8 11 shotgun vs DIME OF DOOM Deep in vs man cover 2 complete in front of Carter, gain of 11. I was surprised with such a conservative coverage on 3rd & medium.
1st & 10 11 shotgun vs 4-3 Power handoff to Williams gains 2. Ferrell forced the run back inside but Skalski had already overrun it, Huggins eats it up inside though.
2nd & 8 11 shotgun vs 4-3 Quick curl vs cover 3 gains 3. O'Daniel flew straight to the flat and never gave the play a chance.
3rd & 5 Empty shotgun vs DIME OF DOOM Slant vs man cover 1 overload, Wilkins tips the pass and it's almost caught or intercepted by a few different players, PUNT. No chance of a completion even without the tip since Mullen had such tight coverage, Bentley just panicked and forced it.

1st & 10 11 shotgun vs 4-3 Counter handoff to Etienne gains 4. SC set the edge well but Etienne's lower body strength made 4 yards out of 1.
2nd & 6 11 shotgun vs 4-3 Swing screen to Etienne has the sideline and blockers, big gain of 22. Lol at the defender who tried to truck stick and ended up on his back.

1st & 10 11 shotgun vs 4-3 Long out to Rodgers just out of reach, dropped and incomplete vs soft zone. It looked like the pass would sail but this should've been caught.
2nd & 10 11 shotgun vs nickel RPO curl to Smith vs cover 4 is tipped incomplete. Correct read, fine throw, SC just made a play.
3rd & 10 10 shotgun vs nickel Dig route to Higgins complete against man cover 2, gain of 25. Skai Moore is their best player but you can't put a weak side linebacker on Higgins.
1st & 10 11 shotgun vs nickel IZ to Choice squeezes 4 yards. Hearn made a lane singlehandedly. He should be the 1st team All-ACC guard, not Crowder.
2nd & 6 11 shotgun vs nickel Fade to Overton draws interference. The size mismatch drew the flag.
1st & 10 11 shotgun vs 4-3 QB sweep strung out and tackled late out of bounds, obvious flag and Columbia is coming unglued. Here's where the both the game and tempers started to get away from SC. Muschamp had his team too emotional hoping it would compensate for talent and naturally it backfired.
1st & 6 12 shotgun vs 4-3 IZ to Feaster gains 5. Morris, Pollard, and Smith were all downfield right after the snap and Feaster bowled through the gaps they created.
2nd & 1 12 shotgun vs 4-3 IZ to Feaster, dives in from the 1, TOUCHDOWN. Another easy lane.

1st & 10 11 shotgun vs 4-3 Jet sweep to the sstrong side gains 5. O'Daniel had the edge set but he was cut blocked.
2nd & 5 11 shotgun vs 4-3 Curl route to Edwards incomplete vs cover 3, tipped by Robinson and almost picked by Bryant in zone.
3rd & 5 11 shotgun vs 4-3 SC LT completely misses Ferrell's speed rush and it's an easy sack, loss of 4. The SC OL has played admirably to this point but Clemson's disguised pressure got home.

1st & 10 11 shotgun vs 4-3 PA out route to Cain vs soft cover 3 gains 14. This will continue to be easy yardage against the soft coverage inherent when teams load the box.
1st & 10 11 shotgun vs nickel PA counter rollout vs cover 4, Pollard gave a weak effort and let a rush through and Bryant dances before he's sacked, loss of 4. McCloud's comeback route would've been open, this is on Pollard.
2nd & 14 11 shotgun vs nickel Quick hitch to Greenlee vs soft cover 4 gains 9. Keep playing soft zone, fine with me.
3rd & 5 10 shotgun vs nickel Slant to Renfrow against man cover 1 spy gains 6 of course. SC played tight man this time and Bryant beat it.
1st & 10 11 shotgun vs nickel QB counter stopped for no gain. Simpson KILLED A GUY on his pull but Falcinelli lost his seal and killed the play.
2nd & 10 Empty shotgun vs nickel Slant to McCloud vs tight man is complete for 5. Man coverage proving just as futile as soft zone, remember when we identified the SC secondary as a major weakness?
3rd & 5 10 shotgun vs nickel Curl/wheel combo vs man cover 1, Higgins is wide open on the wheel, gain of 40. This was my man crush from the 2017 class, finally getting his. Slight underthrow kept this from being a touchdown.

1st & 9 11 shotgun vs 4-3 Counter option keeper gains 4 inside. Love the new rinkle in which McCloud is an option on the reverse pitch.
2nd & 5 11 shotgun vs 4-3 ZR dive to Feaster gains 2. Good read but Brunson filled emphatically.
3rd & 3 11 shotgun vs 4-3 QB rollout, rub to Renfrow on the front pylon (sound familiar?) is covered but he works back and Bryant hits him between defenders, TOUCHDOWN. Simple scramble drill. Feaster is fortunate Bryant is slippery because he whiffed on Brunson's blitz.

Dabo proceeds to draw the best penalty in school history, the SC student section chants “F you Dabo,” “F you Clemson,” and the teams trade punts before the half.
