The Clemson Tigers got off to a strong start against the Virginia Tech Hokies, punched in a couple of game-deciding scores to end the first half and begin the second, capitalized on back-breaking turnovers, and generally exerted their will throughout the contest. Kelly Bryant showed remarkable poise and versatility, though there remains plenty to work on as the season progresses.
VPI is a program on the rise, but this one showcased how far they have to go talent-wise before competing at Clemson’s level. If Ryan is right, they may never get there.
Our game aside, week 5 around CFB was instructive as teams prone to playing with fire got burnt (USC), conference hopefuls continued to rise (Miami, Auburn, Georgia), and Tennessee reaffirmed their place inside the sideline trashcan of our hearts and minds.
Enjoy the show, and this dominant Tigers victory!
What's a Pawcast?
It's a semi-regular podcast (we promise!), hosted by three CU alumni — Ben, Cody, and Nick — who discuss Clemson Tigers athletics from a fan's perspective, and try to predict the future. Because we're far from experts, we farm out that part of the show. Past and future guests include Shakin' the Southland writers, SB Nation CFB media personalities, former Clemson players & coaches, and a mixed bag of opponent school podcasters, fans, and radio guys.
To check out past shows, visit our Soundcloud page, where you can also subscribe to stream future podcasts. Come for the banter and hastily-formed takes, stay for the Gamecock jokes and microbrew tips. We also post a variety of links on our Twitter and Facebook pages.
