VividSeats.com provided us with some interesting information about who’s buying National Championship tickets and for how much.
The good news is ticket sales appear to be heavily skewing toward Clemson-friendly markets. Only one city in Alabama cracked the list of top 10 cities where National Championship tickets are being purchased.
1. Tampa, FL
2. Greenville, SC
3. Birmingham, AL
4. Charleston, SC
5. Atlanta, GA
6. Greer, SC
7. Saint Petersburg, FL
8. Rock Hill, SC
9. Columbia, SC
10. Mount Pleasant, SC
Given that only one city is in Alabama compared to six in South Carolina, expect a big Clemson crowd advantage. This is good news following a Fiesta Bowl where the Buckeyes had a notable crowd advantage.
VividSeats.com currently listed the average price of tickets sold at $1,198. Considering this game is being played at the shortest combined average distance from the participating school’s campuses since the 2011 LSU vs. Alabama Championship Game in New Orleans, that’s not too surprising. Historically, ticket prices have plunged in the weekend before the game, however they’re unlikely to dip as far as they have in the past. With Clemson releasing print at home tickets on Thursday, keep an eye on the secondary markets as they’ll start shifting very soon if a shift is to come.
