2016 NFL Draft: Clemson DE Kevin Dodd Drafted by the Titans

#33 overall to Tennessee

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Before the 2015 season one of the big question marks for Clemson was if Kevin Dodd would step up. Today he was DRAFTED. It is a miraculous improvement for a player some weren't sure would ever contribute at Clemson. Instead Dodd became a dominant force opposite DE Shaw Lawson.

Dodd measures in at 6'5" 275 and should stand up well to the rigors of the NFL. After graduating from Riverside High School he went to Hargrave Military Academy for a prep year before arriving at Clemson. Dodd spent his first 3 seasons at Clemson as backup, but really stepped up this year when given the opportunity. In some ways he may have even been more disruptive on the line than Shaq Lawson could be, just asked Alabama about it.

In the NFL Dodd is definitely going to need some more coaching on his technique and to become a more polished player. With the right coaching on the DL Dodd should have a fairly productive career in the NFL. He's never had a real problem in terms of work ethic and that should serve him well.

We have a full breakdown of Dodd's strength and weaknesses in our draft profile here.
