Today could be one of those days that we look back at 2-3 years from now as a critical day for Clemson. National Signing Day is always important, but with Clemson looking to close out their class with some DBs as well as the #1 prospect in the country, it has some more excitement than most years.
Trayvon Mullen would be an excellent addition to Clemson's class at DB, especially given our lack of depth now, but it is an uphill climb. He did visit Louisville unexpectedly recently, but supposedly that was because of friends and family related to the team, not because he is seriously considering them. LSU is the favorite to land him, but FSU is also in the mix along with us. He commits at 9am EST on ESPNU.
Rashan Gary is set to commit at 1pm EST on ESPN2. If he picks Clemson it may very well be the best job Dabo Swinney and his coaching staff have done at Clemson for recruiting. He was super impressed by his visit this past weekend and his mom indicated he was having a tough decision between Clemson and Michigan.
We are also going to be looking at John Simpson, a 4-star OL picking between Florida and Clemson. We've always felt Clemson holds a lead here, but Florida has done an excellent job recruiting him and there is a possibility he flips. He is set to commit at 12:30pm EST.
Outside of that there is always an opportunity for an unexpected commit, oh and we do want to make sure all of our previously committed guys get their LOIs in.
Join us below in the open thread to talk National Signing Day and see how Clemson stacks up against the rest of the country. Oh and keep an eye out for a few announcements about 2017.
