It’s a bye week! But just because Clemson isn’t playing doesn’t mean there aren’t interesting matchups from around the country to predict.
Note that the over/unders are not available on ESPN as of my writing of this. If you want those as a guide you’ll have to look it up yourself, sorry.
#6 Texas A&M (6-0) at #1 Alabama (7-0)
Vegas says: -19 Alabama
Revan says: 38-28 Alabama
Wow. -19 for Alabama against the sixth ranked team in the country. You think Vegas might respect them a bit? Well, I don’t see how you can pick against Bama when they’re playing like this. Tennessee, I think we can all agree, was a bit of a sham, but they weren’t a BAD team and they got killed last week by Bama.
You gotta figure Bama is going to win this, although you would say that A&M is certainly going to make a much better showing of it than Tennessee, right?
Memphis (5-1) at #24 Navy (4-1)
Vegas says: -1.5 Memphis
Revan says: 28-21 Navy
Navy doesn’t seem to be getting much respect for a 1-loss team that beat a supposedly very good Houston team. Memphis is a pretty good team, with their one loss coming against that oh so good Ole Miss team. When in doubt, go with AMERICA. Navy’s got my pick.
TCU (4-2) at #12 West Virginia (5-0)
Vegas says: -6 WVU
Revan says: 35-28 WVU
All I know about these two teams is TCU has underachieved, supposedly, and what the fudge West Virginia is 5-0 and undefeated? It’s smart to go with an undefeated team at home in this situation, no? I mean really do you think I’m a professional analyst? I’m throwing darts like the rest of you here.
To pick this game I used a very scientific method of looking at who they’ve played so far and who they’ve beaten. It was not helpful. I then shrugged and went with the Vegas line.
Great, now I’m going to have that West Virginia song stuck in my head the rest of the day. Country roaaaads, take me hoooome...
Miami (4-2) at Virginia Tech (4-2)
Vegas says: -6 VT
Revan says: 30-24 VT
It’s a sad state of affairs for the ACC. Just a few weeks ago we had multiple top 10 teams and like 6 teams in the top 25 or something. Now 4-2 teams are getting edged out by friggin 3-3 Ole Miss. Let that sink in.
Anyways... Tech has been playing better so they should win this but y’know, who knows. It’s the Coastal. Seems like it’s always screwy there.
#23 Ole Miss (3-3) at #25 LSU (4-2)
Vegas says: -5.5 LSU
Revan says: 31- 28 LSU
I want to pick against Ole Miss and Swag even though my gut tells me Ole Miss is a slightly better team. But screw Ole Miss. They’re ranked #23 even though they have beaten absolutely no one and have a .500 record. Screw ‘em.
