BC film review concludes with the 4th quarter of a dominant and satisfying victory. There’s very little to nitpick outside of the second quarter, and surprisingly few screw-ups by the reserves here in garbage time.

Play by Play

Clemson ball, 15:00, BC 46, 35-10 Clemson lead

3rd & 1, offset I heavy set (extra OT, 2 TE, 1 WR) quick toss to Choice picks up 5...

11 shotgun vs 4-3, IZ handoff goes nowhere...11 shotgun vs 3-3-5 man cover 2, flanker screen to Overton not well executed and dropped, incomplete...11 shotgun vs nickel man cover 1 blitz, Watson breaks contain and scrambles down the sideline for 16...

11 shotgun vs 4-3 cover 4, rollout RPO contained by Landry, Watson gets 2 on the run...11 shotgun vs 4-3 double LB bullet cover 3, swing pass to Choice out of the backfield gains 6...3rd & 2, 11 shotgun vs 4-3 FS fire, rollout RPO pass dropped by Choice, literally flew through his hands, had an easy 5 yards...4th & 2, 11 shotgun vs 4-3, speed option pitch to Choice looks horrible but bailed out by a facemask, first down...

1st & 8, 11 shotgun vs 4-3, PA RPO draw gains 5...11 shotgun vs 4-3, ZR handoff to Dye and he walks in, TOUCHDOWN.

BC ball, 11:36, BC 12, 42-10 Clemson lead

21 I-form vs 4-3, power handoff, O’Daniel sets the edge, stop made by JD Davis and Yeargin, gain of 2...12 shotgun vs nickel, ZR handoff gains 3...11 shotgun (trips wide) vs nickel man under cover 2, slant wide open on the legal pick play but it’s dropped, PUNT.

Clemson ball, 10:13, BC 49, 42-10 Clemson lead

2nd team in, 11 shotgun vs nickel, jet sweep pass to Feaster gains 4...11 shotgun vs nickel, ZR handoff to Feaster gains 3...11 shotgun vs nickel man cover 2, rollout RPO, out route complete to Powell, gain of 5...

11 shotgun vs nickel, counter to Dye gains 3...11 shotgun vs 4-3, power handoff to Dye gains 5 behind big John Simpson pulling...11 shotgun vs 4-3 man cover 1, PA fake blown up before Schuessler has a chance, sacked for a loss of 8, PUNT.

With the line blocking down to sell the play-action, Smith has to come around and protect Schuessler from the back side end. Since the nose flew right past Falcinelli, Smith was unable to get outside.

BC ball, 6:42, BC 13, 42-10 Clemson lead

12 shotgun vs 4-3, ZR handoff gains 3...12 shotgun vs 4-3, ZR handoff gains nothing thanks to a solid fill and big hit from Lamar...

BC’s left guard whiffed on Lamar while climbing to the second level, who is there to fill and meet the running back emphatically.

3rd & 7, 12 shotgun vs 4-3 cover 3, pocket collapses and it appears Robinson and a host of linemen get a sack, but Ware escapes and almost gets to the edge before O’Daniel wrestles him down for no gain, PUNT.

Clemson ball, 4:33, Clemson 42, 42-10 Clemson lead

Bryant in, 11 shotgun vs nickel, ZR handoff to Fuller gains 3...11 shotgun vs 4-3, ZR keeper gains 6...11 shotgun vs 4-3 strong side overload blitz, IZ handoff to Feaster gains 3...

11 shotgun vs nickel (safety enters box) cover 3, ZR handoff to Feaster quickly bounces off-tackle, rounds the corner, and from there it’s Overton’s block vs the corner and Feaster’s speed past the safety which frees him untouched to the endzone, TOUCHDOWN.

Overton does enough on the perimeter and the safety takes a bad angle. It doesn’t take much to free a man with this kind of speed.

BC ball, 3:02, BC 32, 49-10 Clemson lead

12 ace vs 4-3, IZ handoff gains 3...21 I-form vs 4-3 cover 3, lead draw handoff stopped for no gain, Davis twins combine on the tackle...11 shotgun vs 4-3 (Chad Smith Sam, Mullen BCB, Fields FCB) cover 4, QB throws a slant when the receiver sat on a slower-developing in route, Fields breaks and beats the receiver inside to the ball, easy interception and return, TOUCHDOWN.

That’ll do it. Clemson ran the ball on a good front, covered exceptionally well underneath, and brought back the big play. Best performance of the season.
