Mark Fields Breaks 'Little Bone in Hand'

According to TigerNet, freshman CB Mark Fields has suffered a hand injury that will put him in a cast for about four weeks.

Fortunately, the secondary is Clemson's deepest group on the defense, but this yet another blow to the Tigers' depth.

It has been a very tough offseason. Isaiah Battle left for the supplemental draft forcing freshman Mitch Hyatt into the starting role at LT. QB Tucker Israel broke his foot. DE Ebo Ogundeko was kicked off the team. Korrin Wiggins was slated to start at nickelback, but tore his ACL. Korie Rogers was in the two-deep at linebacker, but left football. LB Kendall Joseph just had his shoulder scoped.

Now, one of the more exciting freshmen joining the team will likely be out at least until the Notre Dame game. One doesn't have to think too far back to remember a star freshman CB who had an injury that lingered until the coaching staff finally decided to redshirt him (of course, I'm talking about Mackenzie Alexander). Hopefully we don't have any more injuries before the season begins.
