Monte Lee Will be Named Clemson's Next Head Coach

New, comments

Dan Radakovich has found his man.

After much a-do, Clemson finally has a new baseball coach. Tigernet reports that Monte Lee and Clemson University agreed to terms on a contract this past Wednesday which will make him the Head Coach of Clemson's baseball program.

Monte Lee received 45% of the vote in our fan poll that asked which of eight realistic candidates you'd most want as Clemson's next coach. This was nearly double Jim Schlossnagle's 23%! Kevin McMullin came in at 13% while John Szefc came it at just 6%. Maybe more surprising is the welcoming tone some of Radakovich's biggest critics have taken on the hire, admitting this is a strong hire and he is the right man for the job.

It seems the Clemson fan base will soon be united and excited about baseball again. While expectations for next year should be tempered, long-term expectations have no limit!

Details of the contract have not yet been released. We will discuss them once they are available.
