With the 188th overall pick the Buffalo Bills have selected our very own Tony Steward. Along with Grady Jarrett, Steward is one of the guys I wanted to see get drafted the most. Not only did he tear an ACL in December of his senior high school season, he tore the other ACL during his freshman season at Clemson.
Because of his injury history I wasn't sure if Tony would end up being drafted but the Bills took a chance on him. I wouldn't be surprised if Rex Ryan had something to do with the Bills taking a chance on him.
Steward was a stalwart at Will linebacker this past season, after splitting time with Spencer Shuey there in 2013. He was finally to overcome his knee injuries and flash his potential in 2014.
While Tony may not have developed into the beast we thought he could have been when he signed with Clemson out of high school, he has shown to have incredible tenacity and perseverance in coming back from his multiple knee injuries. Those qualities, along with him being an all around upstanding guy, will help him catch on to a roster spot as a special teamer and depth player at linebacker.
Good luck Tony, we're all rooting for you.
