Preview:
The Tigers enter this game after taking 2 of 3 games against the North Carolina Tar Heels at home over the Easter Weekend. This brought Clemson to a 7-8 ACC record. The Dawgs enter this game after being swept by the Vanderbilt Commodores in Athens.
This rivalry has been played since 1900. Georgia leads the overall series 120-104-2, with Clemson leading 55-49-2 at home. Last season, the two teams split the series, with Clemson defeating UGA in Athens 16-4, and the Dawgs returning the favor with a 6-2 win in Clemson. The Dawgs' Trevor Kieboom will be making his return to Clemson. The RS Sophomore 3B spent a redshirt season in Tigertown in 2012. Kieboom's brother, Spencer, was a star catcher for Clemson from 2010 to 2012. As a Freshman in 2010, Spencer got the call to be the starting catcher during the ACC tournament, and kept this spot as he helped the Tigers reach their last College World Series appearance. Clemson will be starting Junior RHP Jake Long, while UGA will have RS Junior RHP David Sosebee on the mound.
