Preview

The Tigers will be making their first trip to Russ Chandler Stadium since the 2012 season, when the Tigers took 2 of 3 in a late April weekend series. In 2013, Clemson also took 2 of 3 at Doug Kingsmore Stadium from the Yellow Jackets. Last year, due to the expanded ACC, the Tigers and Jackets only met during the ACC tournament, when the Jackets knocked off Clemson 3-0.

The Jackets have lost four straight, getting swept last weekend in Chestnut Hill by the Boston College Eagles, and then dropping a Tuesday night game to the Kennesaw State Owls. Clemson was coming off a five game winning streak before being derailed Tuesday night in a 0-7 loss to Georgia. Georgia Tech sits at 4th in the ACC Coastal, despite the fact that they took 2 of 3 from the UVA Cavaliers, who sit right above them at 3rd.

Clemson will be sending Friday night starter Matthew Crownover against Georgia Tech's Friday starter Jonathan King, a left-handed Junior from Mufreesboro, TN. On Saturday, Clemson will be using Zack Erwin against GT's righty Cole Pitts. The Jackets will be sending Brandon Gold to the mound on Sunday, while Clemson has yet to announce the Sunday starter.

Clemson currently sits at third in the ACC Atlantic, behind Florida State and Louisville. Sitting 2.5 games behind the 'Noles, Clemson could potentially jump Florida State if they pull off a sweep of Tech, while Florida State is swept by rival Miami in Coral Gables. The Tigers will get a chance at the Louisville Cardinals next week in a weekend series in Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
