Preview
The Tigers and Dawgs have both had roller coaster seasons since the two last met. The Dawgs scored 2 runs in the 8th and 9th to topple the Tigers. After some mid week struggles, Clemson looks to have hit some sort of stride, winning 5 games in a row, including a doubleheader sweep of ACC foe Duke. UGA comes off getting swept by LSU in Athens this past weekend. Clemson will send Junior Righty Brody Koerner to the mound to face right hander Mike Mancuso of Georgia. Over the past two seasons, this rivalry has been a split series, with each team winning on the road. Clemson has a 2-2 record against the SEC this season, getting 2 wins against South Carolina, one loss to the Gamecocks, and then the previous stated loss to UGA. Once again, we'll get to see former Clemson infielder Trevor Kieboom suit up for the Dawgs. Kieboom, brother of former Clemson catcher Spencer, began his career at Clemson in 2013 as a redshirt, and then transferred to a junior college before finding a home in Athens this season. Kieboom had a big welcome back to Doug Kingsmore Stadium, as he drove in the game winning run for the Dawgs on April 7. If the Tigers win tonight, it will be the 2,700 overall win for the program.
