Clemson Maintains #1 Ranking in AP, Coaches Poll

Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

Despite a lackluster performance against Syracuse, the Tigers remain at the #1 spot in both the AP and Coaches polls today. Ohio State is ranked second and Alabama is 3rd. Oklahoma State has moved into 4th after surviving a scare against Iowa State on Saturday.

UNC has continued to rise, jumping 5 spots to 12th, and it seems increasingly likely that the ACC Championship game is going to feature 2 top 10 teams this year. For all the jokes we make about the Coastal this could end up being Clemson's second toughest game this season, harder than FSU but not as difficult as the win over Notre Dame. Any mental lapses from Clemson and we won't win the ACC and we won't be going to the College Football Playoff.

The Playoff Committee rankings will be released Tuesday night at 7pm EST.
