Clemson vs. Georgia: Week 1 Viewing Guide

The Tigers kick off the 2014 season Saturday evening (5:30 p.m. ET, ESPN) on the road against the Georgia Bulldogs.

Streeter Lecka

In Clemson's first season opener somewhere other than Death Valley or the Georgia Dome since 2002, the No. 16 Tigers begin the 2014 season at No. 12 Georgia. The rematch of last season's 38-35 Clemson victory is scheduled to kick off at 5:30 p.m. ET.

For the fans not attending the game in Athens, here is your Shakin' the Southland viewing guide for Week One:

TV: ESPN, 5:30 p.m. ET. Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge, and Holly Rowe will call the game for ESPN. If interested, Awful Announcing has also posted a complete list of all the commentary assignments for week one.

Death Valley watch party: It should be mentioned that Clemson will be hosting a watch party inside Memorial Stadium for the Tiger fans not making the trip to Athens. The gathering will be free of charge--with concessions and merchandise sold. Gates are scheduled to open at 4:30 p.m.

Live stream: The game will be available to stream via WatchESPN--both online and on the app. As always, a subscriber log-in is required to view events airing on television, but this list of WatchESPN's supported providers shows which companies' subscribers will have access (Sorry, DirecTV people).

Radio: For those unable to watch on Saturday evening, a list of this season's Clemson football radio affiliates can be found here. Information about Georgia football's radio broadcasts can be found here.

Pregame reading from SB Nation:

  • Shakin' the Southland's 17-part preview--featuring position analysis, strategic discussion, predictions, and even a podcast--is perfect for any Clemson fan to catch up on the Tigers before the new season kicks off.
  • Both Ian Boyd's game preview and his piece on Chad Morris' offensive system are worth a read to have a deeper look at the game in terms of strategy and match-ups.
  • Bill Connelly's previews of Clemson and Georgia also give a larger-scale look at the two teams heading into the season.
