The Goldin Guarantees: Championship Week

New, comments

It's Champ Week, and the last Goldin Guarantees until Bowl Season.

Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

Last week was awesome. I went 4-2, but most importantly, we ended that streak that our feathered friends from the Midlands liked to talk about so much. I feel like everything is just better now that we beat the Chickens. Food taste better, the weather is nicer, and everything is at peace. Sadly, we're not playing in the ACC Championship Game, but there are still plenty of great games coming up Saturday.

Saturday 12/6

Missouri vs Alabama (-14.5, o/u 48.5) in Atlanta (Georgia Dome) 4:00 (CBS)

The SEC Championship has proven everything we thought we knew about geography wrong for the past two years, as the champion of the "East" division has come from Missouri, while the "West" champion has been from the state of Alabama. Missouri survived a scare from Arkansas to keep their title as East champs and get the privilege (ha) of playing Alabama. All of us SEC haters would love nothing more than for Alabama to drop this one to a team that still doesn't feel like a SEC school, but don't bank on it. Amari Cooper and company should get it done vs Mizzou. The Goldin Guarantee: Alabama 35 Mizzou 16

Kansas State @ Baylor (-7, o/u 66.5) 7:45 (ESPN)

In a non championship game matchup, the Baylor Bears look to make their final appeal to get in the top 4 playoff. Bryce Petty is probable in Waco, but anytime you're playing against the Wizard Bill Snyder, you have to be on edge. This one should be a fun game to watch, but don't be surprised if the Cats sneak away with a win. The Goldin Guarantee: KState 41 Baylor 38

Florida State (-3.5, o/u 61) vs Georgia Tech in Charlotte (Bank of America Stadium) 8:00 (ABC)

Jimbo Fisher and his band of outlaws players head to Charlotte to take on the Yellow Jackets. Paul Johnson was granted an extension after beating UGA, because GT apparently likes spending money in stupid ways. Regardless, the ACC Coach of the Year will be stacking his triple option offense against FSU's defense. One the other side, Jameis Winston will be playing this weekend after having a student conduct meeting this week. I would say this would be a distraction to Winston, but at this point, it would be a distraction if he didn't have something going on off the field before a big game. Tech looked good in their wins over us and UGA, but the Noles are playing for a shot at the title (if the playoff committee doesn't vote them out for fun). The Goldin Guarantee: FSU 31 GT 27
