Know Thy Enemy: Boredom Edition

Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

This was not the most exciting week of college football outside of Notre-Dame Michigan and SC-Georgia. Oh and we should all pause for a moment to mark the moment everyone finally realized Mack Brown needed to get fired. As bad as our defense has been we haven't given up 500 yards to BYU.

Georgia 1-1 #9 vs. South Carolina (1-1) #13

Amazing how different things are after a second week of football. Georgia isn't as bad as their fans thought and USCe isn't the world beaters they thought. This was two really good football teams playing a close game, kind of like last week for us. I hope Dabo was watching this game, Georgia did a great job against USCe and we'd do well to look at their gameplan.

NC State: 2-0 (0-0)

So um NC State did not do a lot of football like things this weekend. The Wolfpack just about reverted to typical ACC form against the Richmond Spiders. As we mentioned before they lost their starting QB in week 1 and hopefully they still haven't figured it out in a week and a half. I don't like Thursday night games and hopefully Tajh comes out and can play pitch and catch with our wide receivers.

Wake Forest: 1-1 (0-1) vs. Boston College: 2-0 (1-0)

In some classic ACC action, BC won a depressing game of football like substance against Wake Forest. Thankfully they put this game on a Friday night so most folks missed it. That said, BC could provide a bit of a challenge in the ACC, especially when they tend to give us fits.

Syracuse: 0-2 (0-0)

The Orange Juice people do not do football well it seems either. After a loss to Penn State, Syracuse decided to follow it up with a defeat at the hands of Northwestern. Defeat in all fairness is a poor word here, utter humiliation would be more acceptable. 48-27 sums it up for you, and the Troy Nunes folks are not impressed.

Florida State: 1-0 (1-0) #10

The Seminoles had a bye week to print Heisman campaign posters for their young QB. Next up they face the vaunted defense of Nevada, after which you'll see Jameis ascend directly to Heaven.

Maryland: 2-0 (0-0)

The box turtles threw down with Old Dominion and it ended as well as could be expected. 47-10 was the final and it as much of a blowout as you'd expect. Maryland's team seems to have turned it around from their futility of the last few seasons. Their offense in particular bears watching for us.

Virginia: 1-1 (0-0)

Playing Oregon is not going to end well for most teams. Virginia is one of those teams and their spanking was delivered at home to make it even more exciting. Oregon treated this one like an FCS game, and in truth the talent disparity is pretty close.

Georgia Tech 1-0 (0-0)

The bees from Atlanta took the week off to work on their passing attack. Numerous accidents on the surrounding roads were reportedly caused by flying footballs.

Citadel: 0-2

So um, the Citadel is not good at football. They lost to Wofford this week after a disappointing loss to Charleston Southern. The further we get into the season the more of a beatdown Senior Day is going to be. Clemson should win 100-0.
