Adam Choice (5'9, 205lb, 4.5 40) from Thomas County Central in Thomasville, GA committed to Clemson. He picked us over offers from Auburn, GT, Texas, and Florida among others, though the primary suitors were Auburn and GT. He becomes the 3rd and final take at RB this cycle. Choice plays QB in an option offense, and is the oousin of former GT runners Tashard Choice and Joe Burns. Choice is also a candidate to play baseball at Clemson.
I was hoping we'd hold the lone oversign position for a "wow" type of guy (such as Dalvin Cook), but I don't see that on Choice's film clips. He has good speed in the open field, and much of his highlight footage is of him running belly options and Midline, which we can all recall Nesbitt doing to us dozens of times. Choice is still a solid take, he's got good weight on him now and transitioning from a Flex offense to ours isn't a big step up, but he does not do the things a RB does now. He doesn't run a lot between the tackles. He does not block as a QB, and doesn't work on his route running or other things. For this reason I think we should expect a RS. Stanford offered Choice as a DB, so again, we have a player who could in theory move over to the defensive side if the RB position becomes too full.
Grades are a big plus here as well, this one will qualify if he signs. Between that and the open field speed I can see the 4-star rating, but I believe its a little high. I'm not buying a Rivals100 rating at this point. There are some worries about the other two RB commitments grades, but we expect that this ends recruitment of Thomas-Williams and the RB position is now full. He is recruited officially by Dan Pearman.
