Know Thy Enemy: Turtle Soup Edition

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

I missed Saturday's game due to a few commitments, and it looks like I saved my liver a trip around the bend. After 2 weeks of ugly football it would be nice to see some good football from Clemson.

Georgia: 4-3

The Bulldogs had the weekend off ahead of their biggest game of the year, the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. For the more PC inclined of you there is some other name because the schools felt WLOCP promoted underage drinking. Morons.

SC State: 5-3

The lesser Bulldogs lost Bethune-Cookman in a game that gave Nick Saban an erection. SC State managed a lonely field goal as they lost 14-3, and this one featured all of the excitement of defense, bad offense, and not a whole lot of special teams.

NC State: 3-4 (0-4) vs. Florida State: 7-0 (5-0) #3

The BACKENING did not happen on Saturday as Florida State pulled their starters around halftime en route to a 49-17 win. The Seminoles scored 35 points in the first quarter and then cruised for the next 45 minutes. But hey at least NC State won those quarters 17-14. Now we are reduced to rooting for Miami, is that really what we want the world to become?

Wake Forest: 4-4 (2-3)

If Wake had 1 or two more competent football players they would actually do pretty well this year. Looks almost like a different team since we played them. Miami did their best to giftwrap this game to Wake Forest, but in the end the Hurricanes emerged winners to hold onto their insane top 10 ranking. That said, everyone knows the Hurricanes are overrated and nothing but a beatdown is being expected when they play Florida State this weekend. We can always hope they surprise us.

Syracuse: 3-4 (1-2)

Syracuse was off. In other news, Syracuse lost.

Boston College: 3-4 (1-3)

Oh BC, you tease us with performances against FSU and us, but then you go and lay down against a mediocre UNC. You do realize you just gave UNC only their second win of the season right? This isn't the UNC team from last year that could have gone to Charlotte. This is just a bad football team. Duke is better than UNC to give you a measuring stick.

Virginia: 2-6 (0-4) vs. Georgia Tech: 5-3 (4-2)

Honestly I thought Georgia Tech would have scored a lot more points against the White Meat. Instead UVA made things competitive after getting a case of the tries in the 4th quarter. The final was 35-25, but I'm pretty sure everyone stopped caring a lot earlier in the day.

The Citadel: 2-6

The Citadel lost to Chattanooga. You have now been briefed, have a good day.

South Carolina: 5-2 #14

This was a depressing game because I couldn't root for Missouri. Seriously living in St. Louis and having to deal with Mizzou fans is just torture. The biggest thing is no one is actually a fan until they start the season well, and then everyone starts pretending to know all about Mizzou. Oh and after several of USC's games this season, Dabo has no excuse to lose to these guys. The blueprint for winning our final game is out there, we just have to use it.
