Ronald Geohaghan (6’0 192), a future SS from Allendale-Fairfax HS, ended his recruitment this morning by pledging to the Tigers. He had offers from SC, NC State, UNC and Pittsburgh among others. He’s been heavily favoring Clemson for some time, like Tankersley, so this commitment has been coming along. He’s friends with Bashaud Breeland (also from A-F) so that helped us with him when he was offered last February. I believe this commitment was hastened a bit by landing Tankersley too.
Geohaghan plays RB/OLB for A-F, but projects as a Strong Safety or Free Safety on the next level. He put in 97 tackles and 10TFL with 7 sacks at the LB position. He is rated at #216 in the Rivals250, but I think that’s high. I see little difference compared to Tankersley. Neither have a problem laying a hit and have the closing speed you like at safety, but the film on neither shows much in the way of coverage abilities. He’s an athlete but I think a 5.7 3-star rating would be more correct at this point.
Clemson should be getting close to oversign mode at DB as a result of these two commitments, but we have several elite guys we’re in the lead group with or leading for, thanks to Charlie Harbison. Geohaghan was recruited primarily by Marion Hobby however.
He runs a 4.59 40, a 4.31 shuttle with a vertical leap of 31.5 inches. He’s in no danger of qualifying for CU admission either since he takes classes at Denmark Tech already.
Don’t be surprised if Clemson takes another commitment or two in the next couple of weeks.
