This one developed pretty fast and was unexpected. The Chad went back to Arkansas and pulled the #1 recruit in the state away from the Razorbacks. This is the first big steal from that state in my memory. Brooks wasn't even recruited heavily by us until the end of March.

Zac Brooks' (6'2 190, 4.53 40 at UA Combine) is a bit of a tweener, he's played RB and WR, and fits the 2-man position in this offense as well as the 3-back/TB. The word is that he's been recruited here as a WR, but he's also been told that he'll be the 3-back at times. He ended his recruiting today just a week after visiting Clemson for camp. He rejected overtures from Arky, Auburn, and Notre Dame to pick Clemson. One has to imagine that Morris exploited some prior relationships of his in the HS ranks since coming here from Tulsa, OK. Brooks is originally from Ft. Lauderdale and moved to Arky in Jr. High school, and grew up a Miami fan.

His film shows he will go up for a football and his breakaway speed is outstanding. As a runner he does look like a WR-convert taking the football. He seems to be one of those guys that is simply a good athlete in that he's not excellent in any particular area but is good at everything he tries to do. As a college RB he'd need to add some lower body mass because he's pretty thin on tape.

As a Jr., he played RB and racked up 1300 yards and 17 TDs with 32 catches for 200 yds. As a soph, he played WR with 769yds receiving and 217 rushing. He seems tailor-made for the 3-back spot. He's rated at 4-stars by Rivals and the #174 overall player nationally. Scout rates him as the #40 WR and also 4-stars.
