Travis Blanks (6'1 195), the best cover corner on our board and #27 prospect by Rivals, has committed to Clemson today. He chose us over offers from the entire southeast, but UGA was the prime contender for the services of this Tallahassee Cornerback.

This one is worth getting excited about, and I had him on my Most Wanted list post that was to come out next week. He lit everyone up at the Athens Nike Camp, won MVP at the Tallahassee Camp, and again lit everyone up here at Clemson this week in workouts. What stands out most is that he's already got the ball skills and instincts you want in an elite CB, along with exceptional speed and good footwork. He's got the frame size to be physical and isn't scared of laying a hit either, a trend in this year's DB class for the Tigers. Blanks open field tackling is quite good, showing that he's been taught well on his fundamentals.

Last year he raked in 104 tackles and 4 INT playing some Safety and CB on defense, and has been recruited to play here as a CB, but don't be surprised if he ends up at Safety either by his Soph season. Harbison and Steele like the big CBs able to play in Cover 1, and this one can do it. He is a 2012 US Army All-American. He is a possibility to move up to 5-star status with a good Sr season, for those that care.

He was recruited by Jeff Scott. He is a possible early enrollee.
