NCAA tweaked the rules with RPI, making any road win count extra. This is mainly to benefit the teams up north who have to be on the road for the first month, like Boston College. They've also decided to play with instant replay for CWS games.
ETSU is a possible NCAAT team too, so this one does mean more than most midweeks. Kevin Pohle (4-1) pitched a career-long 5.0 innings to earn the win in his first career start.He allowed just three hits (all singles), no runs, and one walk with two strikeouts. Miller went 4-for-4 with three RBIs and a run to lead Clemson, who totaled 14 hits in the game. Hinson went 3-for-4 with a double, RBI, and two runs, while Pohl went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs. Clemson was 5-for-8 with runners in scoring position as well.
Clemson scored all five of their runs on two-out hits and four Tiger pitchers combined to allow only one of 15 baserunners to score. For the third game in a row, Clemson pitchers held the opposition to no earned runs. The Tiger pitching staff, who has yielded just one earned run in its last 46.1 innings pitched, upped its streak of not allowing an earned run to 31.1 innings pitched. The Tigers capitalized on their scoring chances, as they went 5-for-9 with runners in scoring position.

Miller and Hinson had two hits apiece for the Tigers, who totaled seven hits in the contest. Hinson added two runs and a steal, while Miller totaled all four of the game's RBIs, two runs, and a stolen base. Lamb extended his hitting streak to 15 games as well.
