I've heard from various gossipers and crystal ball readers that the job "has to be right" for The Chad to leave Clemson. The word was it had to be a program with a good infrastructure in place, fertile recruiting ground and enough juice to potentially contend for titles. In other words, he wasn't leaving just to get a head job and take on some monumental rebuilding effort (NC St); it had to be where he could win consistently.
Texas A&M would have been one of those places, for obvious reasons, and it would have been even more attractive because he's an alum. So, given the report that Kevin Sumlin was offered the HC position with the Eagles, Clemson probably dodged a HUGE bullet here. You have to think that one more successful year for Sumlin means that he's going to jump, so Morris is going to be at the top of TAM's list.
I'm hoping for a bad year at TAM.
