Even as an outsider, I realize this is essentially a rebuilding year for Clemson. You're installing a new defense, and you have a small senior class. All that points to better times ahead (I'm thinking 2013). Still, in my pre-season picks I have Clemson as #3 behind you-know-who in the Atlantic division. Best-case scenario: I could see Clemson finishing 10-2 or even 11-1.
Which brings me to my hypothetical question: Suppose FSU, Clemson and VT all go 11-1 - losing only to each other on the road? (continue after the jump)
I do think there are several games that could trip up the Tigers, but... If that were to happen - 3 teams, all 11-1 - you end up with FSU winning the Atlantic (by virtue of holding the tie-breaker over Clemson) and playing Va Tech in the ACC CG. Clemson would then sit it out, safely holding on to their 11-1 record going into bowl-selection Sunday. In that case, how good do you think Clemson's chances would be to get an at-large BCS bid?
